Membership in the Catholic Research Resources Alliance (CRRA)

Vision: The CRRA will foster a dynamic scholarly community by: creating the freely available portal to Catholic research resources in the Americas; sustaining the distinctive network of libraries, archives and other institutions that enable the vision; and facilitating internationally the sharing of resources and scholarship. 

Mission: Providing enduring global access to Catholic research resources in the Americas.

The purpose of the CRRA membership is to:

  • Achieve the vision and mission of the CRRA, and
  • Sustain a sense of a distinctive group of libraries, archives, and other memory institutions with a commitment to and capacity for supporting the shared mission of the CRRA. 

Members participate in a variety of ways, including:

  • Collaborate with other libraries, archives, and organizations in identifying, creating access to and/or digitizing Catholic research resources,
  • Engage in reciprocal resource sharing among CRRA members and partners,
  • Enable discovery and access to their collections relevant to the scope and themes by contributing records to the Catholic portal,
  • Participate in projects to digitize Catholic newspapers for inclusion in the Catholic News Archive,
  • Create and provide access to Catholic resources at their institutions,
  • Promote availability of CRRA resources at other institutions,
  • Participate in setting directions, policies and best practices for the Catholic portal, the Catholic News Archive and the website through board and committee service,
  • Share creative and innovative ideas and projects to further research, and
  • Foster connections and collaborations with other organizations with shared interests.

Membership is for one CRRA fiscal year, which begins July 1 and ends on June 30. The fee schedule is available online. Partner status is available when full membership is not feasible.
